It is no secret that I love Dogfish Head. I had the pleasure of meeting Sam Calagione
and savor each chance I get to have one of their fine brews. Their
latest concoction is made from an recipe derived from the residue on
pottery jars found in a 9,000 year old village in China.
The result was Midas Touch Golden Elixir, a brew that “put us on the
map for historical beers,” Calagione said. Based on the success of
Midas Touch—it has won several beer-festival medals—McGovern again
turned to Dogfish Head to brew up the ancient concoction from China.
Guess it is now time to check my local Dogfish Head retailers to see if they have it.

From the title you would assume that this is a new daily feature where
we spotlight a new beer site each day. You'd be wrong. You'd be better
off assuming that I couldn't come up with a more descriptive title.
Anywhoo…

Add GM to your beer acronym list. GM stands for genetically modified
when referring to food. The Kenth Brewery in Sweden looks to be the
first brewer to use GM corn in it's beer.

This has nothing to do with beer but everything to do with this blog’s RSS feed. We are now using FeedBurner for our XML feeds. Please update your feed reader to use http://feeds.feedburner.com/HailTheAle as the XML/RSS feed URL. Many feed readers will detect the new URL and update automatically but it never hurts to double check.
