Matches for Friday, June 16:
Serbia and Montenegro vs Argentina
This round, Montenegro is fronting Nikši?ko Pivo while Argentina goes with Otro Mundo Strong Red Ale due to the mundo tie-in.
Winner: Argentina. Like they are from another world.
Ivory Coast vs Netherlands
When you think Ivory Coast and beer, you think Mamba since it appears to be their only beer.
For Netherlands, we're choosing La Trappe Dubbel. The Quadrupel held up last round and our 1st grade math skilz tell us dubbel is more better than quadrupel–we think…
Winner: Netherlands. Still not sure what an Ivory Coast is (hopefully nothing like a rusty trombone).
Angola vs Mexico
This paragraph is brought to you by the keyboard shortucts Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. Looks like Angola has Nova Cuca. That's all we have to say about that.
Mexico is all about Dos Equis XX Amber this round. Just the name alone instills fear in the opposing team. Also, not a bad beer and if you can't find this near you I will have to assume you live in a hole. A hole that is nowhere near anywhere.
Winner: Mexico. Si, es verdad.

Matches for Thursday, June 15:
Costa Rica vs Ecuador
Pilsen is our choice for Costa this round. Probably an average beer by most standards but it doesn't pretend to be anything more. Easy to find everywhere in Costa Rica, this is another beer that works well in the Central American heat.
Pitting pilsner against pilsner, Cervezas Nacionales Pilsener is representin' Ecuador.
Winner: Costa Rica. Just becuase we picked Ecuador already.
Trinidad and Tobago vs England
Since we passed on it last round, Carib Lager is our choice for TnT (dynamite). This is another beer that is pretty easy to find here in the States.
Did we mention England has more beers than you can shake a crumpet at? Well, we should have. This round brings us Fullers London Porter. I personally like all the Fullers I've had and I loves me some porters.
Winner: England. Because it makes us think of Monty Python.
Paraguay vs Sweden
Baviera makes an appearance for Paraguay. Their lineup is a bit thin.
When you think of Sweden, you probably don't think of beer. Unless you are thinking of the Swedish Bikini Team. But you shouldn't because it isn't real, while Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is.
Winner: Sweden. We like guys named Nils.

So far, our prognostication is about the same as flipping a coin. We've called seven games correctly, seven no so correctly, and two were a draw. Since we didn't know you could have a draw, we're not sure what to do about this or what it means. So, we'll just ignore it.
Matches for Wednesday, June 14:
Ukraine vs Spain
OK, so we were late on this one and this game has already transpired. So, we're going to make this short and a sure thing and say:
Winner: Spain
Saudi Arabia vs Tunisia
Tunisia wins this match by default since the Saudi's don't have beer according to my research staff. Knowing this, Tunisia pulled Celtia off the bench.
Winner: Tunisia
Poland vs Germany
For Poland's last match we went with Okocim Porter. This time, we're giving it up for Okocim Palone, mainly because of the cool label but also due to good reviews.
Our German choice last time was Spaten Optimator. Today, Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier is the beer to beat. This is a great wheat beer and easy to find in the bottle just about anywhere and on draft in your finer bars/pubs/rich friend's grotto.
Winner: Germany. Home team advantage and a monk.

Tripple-breasted blondes, I guess. Because it can't possibly be the product they are actually pushing.

Matches for Tuesday, June 13
South Korea vs Togo
Hite Beer is our choice here for South Korea. Not because it is good, but because it is so averagely poor. Hey, this is our game so we can make the rules as we go along.
Along the same line of reasoning, our pick for Togo is Flag Spéciale. It seems there is nothing special about this beer.
Winner: Togo. Easier to type.
France vs Switzerland
France has more beers than you can shake a cheese stick at and many of them get high marks. The choice came down to the name and that means Bière des Sans Culottes takes the cordon bleu.
You'd think we'd pick Samichlaus here but since it hasn't been brewed for many years, we won't. The geek in me wants to go with sTunnel (if you get this, you are a geek–just don't tell anyone). Alas, we are picking Brasserie de Fribourg Old Cat because the idea of cats (especially geriatric cats) and soccer make us laugh.
Winner: Switzerland. Still laughing about the cat.
Brazil vs Croatia
Xingu is our Brazilian beer choice. This is a great beer and should be easy to find locally.
Croatia, let's see… Oh, there it is. Tomislav Pivo gets our vote due to it being the strongest beer in Croatia. I'm guessing that is a good thing if you are in Croatia.
Winner: Brazil. I think it is about time they were taken seriously in this sport.
